Community Connections Program

The International Visitors Council of Detroit, a local group chosen by the U.S. State Department to participate in its Community Connections Program, selected director of Consulting Firm “Technologies of Sustainable Development” from number of candidates. The program enables English speaking mid-level businessmen and women from Ukraina to come to the Detroit area for 4 weeks, live with an American host family, and experience hands-on internships with area businesses to learn the day-to-day functioning of a free market system. As part of our hands-on experience, IVC Detroit's Community Connections Business Internship Program goal was to help for guests make the internship experience interesting and meaningful.

Baker College

Business Internship in a modern non-profit independent co-educational institution has allowed familiarizing with that how in reality mission of Baker College – to provide quality higher education and training which enable graduates to be successful throughout challenging and rewarding careers – have been realizing. Participation in day-to-day functioning, in educational process that is prepared students for competency in Business, Health and Human Service, and technical career in today’s global economy has filled with valuable experience. College provides students with practical experience and training in chosen field of study, encourages social and classroom related activities which promote both personal and professional growth. Wayne State University, School of Business Administration

Small business has been the backbone of American nation since its inception. But if we look at raw statistics we find that businesses with fewer than 20 employees have only a 37% chance of surviving 4 years and only a 9% chance of surviving 10 years. What does it take to run a profitable business?

The BIZPRO Project in Ukraina

BIZPRO contributes to the economic development of Ukraine by providing assistance that improves the ability of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to operate and compete in local and international markets. BIZPRO is focused on two tasks: Market Development Support and SME Enabling Environment.

BIZPRO strengthens the enabling environment by helping the public and private sector in selected municipalities formulate and implement balanced and predictable regulations that improve the business environment
In the area of Market Development Support, BIZPRO works to improve the ability of Ukrainian SMEs to grow and compete in local, regional, and international markets and to develop linkages and improve industry specific skills SMEs require to grow, based around multiple industrial subsectors. BIZPRO improves the operation of SMEs by working with business service providers to develop and deliver industry specific skills to SME beneficiaries operating in the program’s target subsectors. BIZPRO’s partners in this endeavor are local business and industry specific associations, business service providers that conduct assessments of subsectors, work to deliver sector specific knowledge and skills to subsector groups and develop ber business linkages; and with other donor funded programs that work in the area of SME development.
